Your math is wrong fyi, one box of wine is 4 bottles worth. If 3
Boxes last 10 days that's 12 bottles in 10 days. If they have friends over once or twice, that's only a bottle of wine a day between 2 people. That's 2 glasses. Not that bad, not great, but hey they are 82.

It's definitely easier to pound wine unknowingly out of a box, I've done it many times. Given that, why not just be frank to them about it and ask? Are they friendly? Very easily could have friends over routinely whose kids won't let them drink.

I don't understand why people won't talk to their family. You don't have to be a jerk, just tell them frankly anout your concerns, hear them out, and leave it alone.

That's a sizable amount of wine consumed per evening. But the antioxidants probably cancel out any negative effects.

Box wine isn't bad if you know which ones to get. I like the Big House brand and pick some up every once in a while.

They're drinking approximately 4 glasses of wine each per day. Spread out, that's not so much.

My grandpa is 89 and drinks alllll day. He hunts, fishes, yardwork, casino, etc.

He just "stays right", never seen him torn up.

Dude thinks Bud Light Platinum is nectar of the gods

I figure at this age, hes lived a damn successful life, still takes care of business at 89, so drink it up.

My grandparents are in their 90s. I went to visit them and found out that they both have 4 or 5 strong mixed drinks a day. Was pretty impressed honestly

Wrong. One 5 litre box of wine is equivalent to 6 (750 ml) bottles of wine.

Actually it's closer to 7. It's 6 2/3 750mL or 3 1/3 1.5L.

You know how I know you don't drink box wine? I buy about 3 a month, they are 3 liters. Which is 4 750ml bottles of wine. One bottle of wine is 4 glasses or 5 if you pour small.

The OP is talking about Franzia which comes in 5L boxes. The 3L boxes are nicer stuff like black box, vin vault, or bota.

Well dang I apologize then, I don't think I've ever seen a 5L.

If the OPs parents are going through 5Ls then that changes it for me from casual drinking to boarder line too much

It's easy to forget that up until 100 years ago we only had water, tea, ale, and wine to drink. The alcohol in wine and ale made it safer to drink.

At 89 I'd be more concerned with the sugar and calories than the alcohol in franzia.

You've never seen a box of franzia? Never slapped the bag?
