Boiling crawfish today. Have a question
Posted by lsushelly on 2/25/18 at 8:21 am02
I have a couple pounds of shrimp in the freezer. I am going to add them to the boil. When should I put them in? FYI I don't boil the crawfish. When the water comes back to a boil, I shut it off and soak 30 minutes

Throw them in when you start the soak

Put them in when you start the soak will be perfect.

Are you thawing the shrimp first or throwing them in frozen?
Throw them in when your crawfish soak. When the meat starts separating from the shell. Yank them out. Don't let soak too long and over cook them because then then are tough to peel.

Thawed
I do that all the time.
I get a laundry bag and put them in there. When my crawfish come to a boil I let them go for 2 minutes, then I add my shrimp and let them boil a minute, then I shut the fire off. Let the shrimp soak for 5-10 minutes then pull them out. Let the crawfish soak till they sink.
