Once you drop the crawfish... would you let the water come back to a boil then drop the shrimp and cut after 1.5-2min?
any tips much appreciated

My buddy throws the shrimp in just for the soak in a mesh bag. Come out pretty good.

Sounds close to something that would work. I'm more cautious about overcooking my crawfish to try something like that.
I might even boil the shrimp in a separate collander first. then throw them in with the crawfish during soak time.

Add them when you are soaking the crawfish, after you have cut the fire.

That's the way I do them when boiling crawfish. Just let them soak while the crawfish are soaking and they are good to go.

found another thread where people are saying they cant soak the same amount of time as the crawfish... only let the shrimp soak 10 minutes or so after cutting the fire
should i follow that advice or can they soak 30 minutes after cutting the fire?

What everyone else said. When you cut the fire on the crawfish, remove the lid and throw the shrimp in. Comes out great!

throw them in for the last 3- 5 minutes of your soak
