I started getting Ben and Jerrys when BB shut down.

I see no reason to go back. B&J has a superior product, uses more natural ingredients and didn't kill people, after knowing there were issues in plants. I'll never buy BB again.

I suspect there are a lot of folks that feel the same way.

I think you are wrong. Once it comes back they'll have it marked down and won't be able to keep it on the shelf. I know after all the crappy ice cream I've been eating I'll be ready. Don't think we are talking apples to apples on price either.

To me there's no better cookies and cream ice cream than BB. I'll be buying some.

They rolled out a new marketing campaign too.

It's a video of home footage of folks eating Blue Bell while doing funny stuff and pranks.

Tagline: "Blue Bell: We're going viral!"

Well yea, B&J and Haagen-Dazs are both superpremium ice cream so you pay more. If you're ok paying, you're def getting the better ice cream.

Bluebell meanwhile is one tier below them at premium ice cream level.
quote:

Superpremium Ice Cream - These ice creams tend to have a very low overrun (as low as 20% even) and a high fat content (>14%), resulting in a very dense and rich product with a weight typically greater than 80g per 1/2 cup. They also typically use higher-end ingredients with a price point to match, and come in smaller containers with gourmet flavors. Examples: Haagen-Dazs, Ben & Jerry's

Premium Ice Cream - Premium ice creams tend to have lower overrun (~60-90%) and higher fat content (11-15%) than regular ice cream, resulting in a heavier ice cream (weight of about 73g per 1/2 cup). Examples: Blue Bell, Baskin-Robbins

When someone else comes out with some Pistachio Almond that is better than blue bell, I'll buy their stuff then.

I pretty much quit buying ice cream when they stopped production, tried a couple different brands but nothing compared.

I wonder how bad of a financial hit BB has taken so far. I know they've had employee layoffs but I haven't see where any heads have rolled from the BB decision makers that let this nasty ice cream situation go on after knowing there were big problems.
