I bought one of the small ones like this for use at home and to take camping.
Works awesome. Doesn't take up much space, and is much easier to move around.
Caught it on sale for $50.00 at Walmart. Too good to pass up.

Habachi Vegetables
I tried to do this last night for the first time and it was less than a success. Can you blackstone users give me your technique? What temp do y'all cook on these things?
Lastly, when I clean my griddle and season it before storing the griddle is not evenly cleaned. If I run my hand over it there are spots that are sticky? Ideas?

I bringing the 17" Blackstone in the duckblind this season, used it for the first time on saturday morning and it worked great for bacon and eggs. I have a waterproof box that I keep the gas, utensils, and grill in the covered blind between hunts. So all I have to bring in with me is the food, makes for a great breakfast in the blind for longer hunting on slow days.

Its def. a cooking adjustment. Each time you cook on it, You will get better. I am much better on my fourth time than my first time.
The first time i cooked burgers I had 3 burners on high heat with the 1st burner off. The final product was meh. I started with sauteing onions, then cooking the burgers, melting the cheese, and toasting the buns.
I just cooked some Sunday night for the second time. I put the 4th burner on high heat, third burner on medium heat, I had burners 1 and 2 on low.
after watching a few videos, i came away with using it as an assembly line so to speak. either the 1st or 4th burner being high heat allows you to sear, then after a sear, move it down the line... I seared the burgers on each side, then moved to burner 3 to cook a little more. Once the burger was medium-medium well, i moved the meat to the lower burner and applied the cheese and sauteed onions and dropped a bowl over it to melt everything together. I took the burgers off then toasted the bread in the juices of the meat.
Huge improvement to say the least

I have something similar to that to clean with. I am just not sure if the sticky parts are not clean or the oil is gone. Those spots are not shiny like the rest of the griddle. I will try to take pics tonight.
As for the vegetables everything was overly charred. I guess I am cooking to hot.

I welded a piece of square tubing where the drain is on my BILs so it can drain better. i have the 18", mine doesnt have a drain problem but I dont find it cooks as good as the 28" or 36". With that said I love mine and would buy it again. The griddle top is small enough that I take it inside and not worry about it rusting. I can also get a hot fire going and stick it on my grill to reseason it if need be.

Buy a 6" wall paper scraper from Lowes.
Check the clearence section at Wal Mart, mine had them on clearance last week.

I have the 36" and I love it.
I bought the blackstone accessory set that comes with 2 liquid bottles, 2 hibachi spatulas, and a scraper. I fill one bottle with water for cleaning, and the other with olive oil for seasoning before/after cooking. Very easy to clean.
I also made a melting dome by bolting a cabinet handle to the bottom of an aluminum lasagna pan. Works great for sautee'ing veggies and melting the cheese on burgers.

No Pam!!
Oil it properly. I have the 36" and love it. I started several a thread about it a few months ago. I also have the Little Griddle Pro and use it on my grill for smaller cooks.

If you store it outside, any issues with critters and or insects fowling it up?

Does anyone have experience with the tailgater? It has removable grill box and griddle?
