If you like doing long smokes, I think the the Flame Boss is great. It keeps the temp constant and it allows you to check on it remotely via WiFi.

Flame Boss

I think BGE sells one themselves (private labels someone) also called the EggGenius.

Also, you'd need a placesetter to make sure you have indirect heat on a briscuit/ribs, etc.

A table to set it in. Whether you make it yourself or buy one. It’s a better look and gives you a better work/ storage space

With a cast iron pizza “stone” you can griddle things like fajitas and veggies or do smash burgers. Adds a lot of flexibility to the BGE, and griddle over fire adds a flavor you don’t get with a regular flat top.

I got the BGE island and the cover for it.. Worth every penny. Still looks new after 6 years.

Things I would buy immediately:

Welding gloves
Adjustable rig with extender from Ceramic Grill Store
Kick Ash Basket
Smokeware stainless top

Buy an internal thermometer if you don’t already have one. Instant read if you’re only going to buy one. The Javelin is a good, cheaper alternative to Thermapen for an instant read. For digital with probes, either Thermoworks Smoke or Maverick. I have a Maverick now that is probably 7-8 years old. The Smoke will be my next one.

Calibrate the dome thermometer with boiling water. I do this about once a year as they get thrown off over time.

My biggest recommendation is choosing a spot where it’ll lie for years. I have an XL and moved with it, and that was a pain in the arse.

Thermapen or a Thermopop is crucial.

I concur with the Thermapen. I love mine.

Round drip pan

For me, this is a must. It fits perfectly inside the place setter and holds up to about 2 gallons of water if you want to add water/liquid to a low and slow cook/smoke.

my second must is the cast iron grate upgrade from stainless. use your stainless as a "raised grill" (lets me do 2 full family packs of wings at once on the Large Egg)

Don't have a BGE but I've been kicking around the idea of adding BBQ Guru controller to my Joe. But really wasn't sold that I need to add a fan because I've never had problems controlling the temp. I did want some probes to monitor meat temp and grill temp. So I went with MEATER Block. Now with these being wireless if I decide to add the rotisserie I can still us them.
