Wahada and Hello Sushi

Where is Wahada? I've never heard of it.

Can you also explain to me why Hello Sushi is so bad? I really haven't heard one good thing about it, but no specifications either.

I have been to Koto numerous times and have never been impressed. I have heard many good things about Sushi Yama and plan to try it soon. I have also enjoyed WAKA House on my few visits...

Sushi Yama:

Aside from the sushi being excellent, the staff is top-notch and friendly. If you sit at the bar, the rollers often give you extra/free items. Just depends...

Loose rolls. They fall apart on your plate.

yama and koto are my favs. yama looks really nice since they remodeled. also my wife is a vegetarian and the chef at yama was more than happy to make some rolls for her that were different and delicious.

Sushi Yama, Ichiban, and Koto, are the class of BR Sushi. Tsunami has a few really good rolls too, but not in their class. The last trip to Tokyo Cafe three weeks ago with a friend, totally disappointed, as it's normally reliable Cowboy Roll blew, as did their hibachi.

Koto and Sushi Yama do the best signature rolls, I prefer Koto slightly if it's made by Derek Chang's hands, while Ichiban does really steady and affordable basic rolls.

Koto..Bomb..Hawaiian..Rainbow..Koto 1&2..Four Seasons..

Ichiban..Ichi..Pink Lady..La..Snow Crab Naruto..Crawfish..

Sushi Yama..Lava..6-3..Hawaiian salad..

As much as I like BR sushi, I prefer Shogun in Nawlins by far, as their huge roll selection, and best Crunchy Roll that can be found, are a must every trip to NO.

Sorry SA, but Tokyo Cafe is a "CrApplebees" of BR Sushi in quality..their teriyaki totally boring(Pluckers has a better sauce..better yet buy some Soy Vai Veri Veri Teriyaki at the grocer)..their ginger salad dressing a joke..their chefs very mediocre..but if it does it for you..more power to ya'.

If you like it, may I suggest "BR's Great Wall of Sushi" aka Nagoya, it's a bland troth, but has "bang for the buck" of yuck.

P.S. I've been exclusively "bandwagoning" the Phils since 1978, and through mostly last-place teams, Von Hayes, Kevin Spacer, Bob Walk,etc..eras. The 1980s, 1983s, 1993s, 2007s, and 2008s, have been few and far between.

I tend to agree with this. I have eaten at every sushi place in Baton Rouge except for Toyko Cafe and the buffets. Koto has the best special rolls, Yama had the best sashimi but it was the most expensive. Ichiban is always solid as are Kamado and Wahada. I have been to Koi once and it was fine, but I wouldn't go out of my way to go there. Tsunami is decent and nice to go with a group because of the atmosphere. Hello Sushi and Drunken Fish are at the bottom.

Have you had Ninja in New Orleans? I had a pretty damn good special crunchy roll there....very spicy and good.

Snowcrab rolls are where I measure goodness....those just happen to be my favorite.

Ibichan's snowcrab roll was basically oozing with mayonnaise and very crunchy asparagus....took away from the great snowcrab.

Tsunami is VERY average sushi with a great view.. They dont come even close to Yama, Toyko, Ichiban or Derek Chang. Simply some of the most overpriced sushi and average sushi I have had in this state. Basically its become a place where college students go where they think they are top shite while they eat what they believe is good sushi.
