I've actually had some solid prime NY strips from WalMart over the past month or so.

I find the grading and quality of Rouses steaks are subpar.

I bought some choice top sirloins on sale at Albertsons today. Im throwing them on the pit Sunday and think they will be half decent for being cheap.

I agree. Rouses plays games too. Seems like alot of their sales items aren’t put out or the signage is hidden. Quite a few times I’ve had to ask them why the sale item isn’t marked with the sale price and they will say “oh they put the wrong label on it”. They know people don’t check or remember what the sale price was.

They are very inconsistent. Yesterday, the prime strips in the case looked really nice. I bought one and will cook it tonight. Sometimes their steaks look like shite. I will say the prime strips have been pretty good overall lately at the Camellia location.

False advertising. They do seem to do it a lot. Had to show the workers the flyer they hand out in the store with the correct price. Was skirt steak not long ago.

CAB choice is the best around here. Certified Angus Beef seems very consistent and marbled well.

Not a Louisiana presence, but Publix tenderloin is a fantastic product. The greenwise tenderloin is every bit as tender and good as prime from Costco. The regular tenderloin is also outstanding. Publix charges a premium, but they put them on sale frequently so that’s when I buy.

Albertson’s

My ex bought steaks at Albertsons once. I’d have been able to make a better meal out of shoe soles. No No No

Buy from one of the locals. Alexander’s, Robert’s (not sure about post buyout), Iverstines, Maxwell’s Market…Rouses newer locations have good meat and real butchers, I just go out of my way not to throw Donny any of my money.
