Have eaten at Cajun Critters 5+ years ago. Don't recall what I had but remember it was really good.
The smoked duck and andouille gumbo at Big Al's was the best restaurant gumbo I've had.
All I got.

The shack and Cajun Critters are good.
Pass on Big Al's, they seem never to change the grease that they fry in. The last time I went, the fried food was awful and tasted like burnt grease.

1921 is great. I used to sit at the oyster bar and hammer a few dozen with some light beers regularly. The boiled seafood there is good too.

I like it. It's kind of a dump. When it rains the roof leaks on you. Get the local boiled seafood. I got ruby reds last time and they were cooked to mush so they replaced them with delicious local shrimp. The fried softshell crabs is too much breading and not very good. I guess stick to the most basic local seafood.
