The only time I've been & a nice crowd was there has been on Saturdays. We go sometimes before hornet games, and like u said, they'll be 2-3 people in there.

I haven't been to Henry's in a few weeks. My boy that was bartending there quit. Still a solid place though

I have a meeting there next Sunday. My secretary's brother likes to frequent there for the MLB.

Growing up in the Garden District, I would say that the Garden District's limitations are in between St. Charles and Magazine and Louisiana and Jackson. So, Uptown to me is the other side of Louisiana to the Carrollton/Riverbend area (which turns in the Carrollton district) and broadens to Tchoup and Claiborne.

That being said, I am no "TulaneLSU" so forgive me if you disagree with me.

There are plenty of great restaurants in Uptown, and I'm going to try and give a good mixed top 5 (they don't all have to be nice, fine dining establishments). So, I'll give you all my top 5 (in no particular order).

1.) Guy's Po Boys - Might be my favorite po boy shop in town. Guy's my friend, you are definitely top 5 worthy.
2.) Gautreau's - Old school. Classic. Never had a bad meal there. Parent's brought me there at least once a month growing up. Gautreau's will always be in my list.
3.) Lilette - I can count on one hand how many times I have been. Still, it's great food. They are a little pricey though. Great date place.
4.) High Hat - Some might shake their head. Look, I am trying to give a decent mix. I was thinking about throwing Dat Dog in there, but they only do one thing. At least you get a little variety at High Hat. A little tip, whenever you are thinking about going to Company Burger (which I do like), take a stroll down the street and order The High Hat burger with extra Pimento. You won't be disappointed.
5.) Patois - The sweetbreads, boudin, and crispy pork belly appetizer alone should be it in the top 5. Once again, kind of like Lilette. I've never had a bad meal here.

I live uptown and I'm surprised nobody has mentioned Jaques Imo's...definitely one of my favorites.

I consider that area more Carrollton/Riverbend, but whatever. That being said, it still wouldn't make my top 5. I do like it though.

Yup. My favorite shrimp poboy in town. The bread is tops.

Haven't been but I hear nothing but good things. Gautreau's and Clancy's are the next two restaurants on my to-go list.

Been twice. Food was really good but not as good as some other places with a similar price point. I could see Lilette being the type of place that is beaucoup better if you're a regular and the chef & staff know you.

I've been screaming this for months. It's my favorite burger in New Orleans.

They do really good food and I like the space a lot. Really bright and clean and a good vibe in there. And you'll probably run into James Carville.

I don't really consider that a good thing.

I ran into Archie Manning last time I went to Gautreau's if we are name dropping.

Man I saw Carville twice in a week a couple years ago. Maple St. Cafe then Patois.

Probably the best restaurant Uptown.

Love it in the top 5 Uptown.

IMO you are right. Hi-Hat burger is my favorite.

Patois

Agreed and a top 2 or three brunch place in town.

One restaurant that hasn't been mentioned that does what they do better than any other place is Casamento's. If I had to list best 5 Uptown they would be in no order:

Gautreau's
Clancy's
Lilette
Patois
Casamento's

Just missing Bistro Daisy, Brigtsen's and Vizard's.

Can't believe I forgot about Casamento's. My go-to for oysters.

How about the Marvin boom?

We both drink and smoke too much I am sure.
