I’ve given this place 3 chances and it’s mediocre and overpriced imo. More options opening soon.

Yeah Keith young’s, a steak house with a lasagna special and tilapia on the menu. Get real.
The question I was answering to was better than Pardo's, bub. Keep up.

So a KY with tilapia is better than Pardos? Cmon man. That’s malarkey

Sleeper hit: Mandina’s. Been there a long time and we’ve just started getting into it. Damn good food, expansive menu, big portions, reasonable prices. Hell my wife order just Shrimp Creole last time and it was freakishly so good I was dabbing my bread in her sauce.

Surprised no one has mentioned Tchefunctes.

Casual lunch that never misses is Rusty Pelican. Cheap and great food in Old Mandeville

In cov- Mandeville, I Recently went to Lola, Gallagher’s, greyhound, and tchefuncte’s.
All are good. Really like the Lola menu. Gallagher is classic steak house and done very good. Greyhound is eclectic and casual. Tchefuncte’s is pretentious but worth the visit. Nice place and great view.
The bar is great and patrons can be quite…. Interesting

Covington - Gallagher's, Del Porto, Meribo, Lola, and Annadele's Plantation are consistently good. So is Mattina Bella (breakfast and lunch). I haven't been but hear that Tavi is quite good.
Madisonville - I've always had good meals at Keith Young's and Impastato Cellars.
Mandeville - I like Viet Kitchen quite a bit, though, it is a very casual place. Others favorites are Cafe Lynn, Nuvolari's, Sal & Judy's, and Pat Gallagher's 527. Pontchartrain Po-boys is great if you like fried seafood and sandwiches but I rarely eat that style of food any longer.
In the last 15 years, the north shore food scene has improved exponentially. IMO, there are many good examples of local Louisiana food, Italian, Chinese, Thai, and Vietnamese but it lacks quality BBQ, Mexican, and Middle Eastern food. Enjoy.
Great recs. I'd add Aki for sushi - it's the best/most consistent I've ever had. Expensive, yes. But it is excellent.
Del Porto has fantastic lunch specials. Tavi is well worth visiting and a major improvement in Covington's middle eastern food. Greyhound is good too and has a nice bar vibe on Thursday/Saturday. I prefer to sit at the bar and eat than a table. Gloriette is okay, but it is pricy and Del Porto is a lot better. DiChristina's is a sleeper Italian place in Covington that is SUPER reasonable and really good.
Pho Cong is a great Viet place in Covington - same family that owns/operates Dong Phuong.
Vasquez is also a great sleeper lunch spot in Covington (on Boston Street). They have really good home style food and a solid Cuban sandwich. Their fried okra is
My only disagreements with your post would be Meribo and Nuvolari's. Nuvolari's has fallen off significantly. I'm not sure what happened, but it is noticeable and we don't go anymore. Meribo isn't bad, but the only thing (other than a couple of the apps) I like on the menu is the pizza, and even then, it's super greasy and the toppings fall off really easily.

Thank you all for all of the suggestions. I don’t go to northshore area much so I wanted to pick a good place for dinner. Will be looking into all.

Screw DelPorto/Greyhound...
I used to love DelPorto but I'm still not over the crazy owner urging the BLM rioters to ""burn it all down."
I can't support a radical leftist business... Sorry.

There's always one and that's your prerogative. Doesn't change the fact that their food is fantastic though.
