You really can't go wrong at Sal and Judy's. There is nothing bad on the menu. Even the "Dead Bread" is good...and don't get me started on the veal/red fish Nicholas. It's the best dish....anywhere - along with the Oysters Cinisi for an appetizer or the crabmeat.

Start with a Knob Creek Old Fashioned.... and ditch the belt going forward.

Also. del Porto does not suck....but Sal's is like sinful and a religious experience all at the same time

Also check out Leonardo's very good and won't kill the wallet.

Been a long time since Bosco's, Tony was taught by Mr.Sal and Jimmy at Sal and Judy's

went into Sal and Judy’s with the intent to eat everything we ordered this time. Too many times I get damn full before the main event

we shared crab claws, salads, fried chicken, fettuccine Alfredo, pasta with red sauce and dessert

a better American-Sicilian meal can not be found

DiCristinas.....yes!!! I almost forgot about them. On the same level as Sal and Judy's on the portion side. If I remember, it is an off shoot of Rocky and Carlo's

Ill share some of my recent negative reviews:

Mi Mamacitas- Got some shrimp fajitas and its like they forgot the seasoning. The shrimp had no flavor.

The Steakhouse(Hammond)- We go here for our anniversary. Drinks were good. Food may have been good, but my steak and baked potato side was cold when they brought it. Wifes steak was so undercooked she had to send it back. We didn't even finish the meal, paid and left. Won't be back. They weren't even busy(half the tables were empty).

That's not been my experience with that place, but for the price, there are too many other steakhouses around that wont disappoint.

Have not been to the place in Hammond

But in the same vein. Burgers. I find most burger places on the Northshore to be shite with the exception of Buster's in Covington....and although it has been years, Char Lou's in Lacombe.

Went to Times Grill a few weeks ago and I found the burger underwhelming....no taste.

Mug Shots , much the same

My personal faves:

Covington - LOLA or Meribo (RIP Bacobar and Forks and Corks)
Mandeville - Hambone for lunch, Leonardo's for Dinner
Madisonville - Probably Keith Young buts otherwise slim pickings

Steak is a free space so Gallaghers Covington or 247 in Mandeville is always an option if you are so inclined

We had excellent meals there in the past, it was way better when it was the hole in the wall place. Just like Bucks that used to be on 190 in covington.

Places try to get all fancy and ruin it.

Its all good though, plenty of places to choose from.
