If you want a nice setting with the wife and a delicious meal, I’d recommend Marcello’s.

Cafe Vermilion is really nice and delicious too.

Pamplona is my personal favorite and a great date place. Make sure to get the bacon wrapped dates and the duck fat fries.

Is Pamplona the same chef as it used to be?

Have you been to Vestal? Can you even name the chefs at any of the other restaurants listed in this thread?

Isn’t the Vestal chef the same guy who did Dark Roux and Brick and Spoon? He is definitely a Louisiana native.

Holly Goetting at Charley G’s is the only other one I can name.

Isn't Chef Ryan's wife's job located in Colorado? I believe that's why he flies back and forth.

It's something like that, I can't recall exactly. Either way, the restaurant is fantastic. It's not like chefs such as Besh, or Alon are/were in their restaurants every day. It's not an unheard of thing

I never liked this place very much...

Charlie G's
Ruffino's
Bailey's (if it's still open)
Imonelli

Go into Sunset for Cafe Josephine's

Bruch in Breaux Bridge at Cafe Syndie Mae

Very good, but has been a little inconsistent as of late.

My go to is Mazen, Marcello's and Cafe V. I am typically a fish dish orderer when I go out.

I can’t get over the love in Lafayette for Mazen’s. I’ve tried it several times and always leave disappointed

If you go, bring your own wine because the list is shite and they are usually out of half of it.

ETA: Charlie G’s is the best it’s ever been

Antoni’s

Best Italian in Lafayette.

A quaint and simple place tho, I find it more romantic than somewhere like Marcello’s. And better food.
