Zea's is by far the best IMO. They do use Paul Prudhommes sausage, with green onions in it I believe. Also the fried chicken is ridiculous. It's $9.50 and you'll have trouble finishing it.

I like Copelands a lot too.

Lots of good places mentioned in this thread, but the best red beans and rice in Baton Rouge by far in my opinion is at Pimanyoli's (Mondays only)..The best red beans and rice that I've ever eaten was at Maspero's in New Orleans.

Make your own maybe? It's the best bet. Get all other types of Louisiana foods/drinks and show him a good time.

If you need a list of the LA themed food just watch Treme for 10 minutes.

It is hard to beat Blue Runner.

Buy a can, fry some onions and Richards sausage then add the beans. Heat 'em up and it'll be some of the best red beans you've ever eaten.

Their sausage is terrible and I've been telling him about mandas

You have received some pretty good advice about where to go, but you might should start to try some other sausages also. Mandas is not really that good.

Another suggestion would be the Coffee House in Cajun Village. It is a the corner of 22 and 70 in Sorrento.

Order the grilled pork chops with a side of RB&R. Dump the RB&R on the pork chops and enjoy.
