Really craving gumbo but don’t want to drag the kids out in this awful weather. Who has the best to go gumbo in New Orleans/Metairie?

Had a chicken and sausage gumbo a few months back at Herbsaint that was excellent. Very dark roux. Perfect seasoning.

Dark roux gumbo seems to be the Nola way. The Gumbo Ya-ya at Mr. B’s is great but it’s like I’m eating a stew.

OP I think Whole Foods and Rouses has a gumbo at the soup stations but I’ve never tried them.

The Rouses on Bluebonnet has decent gumbo for store bought. I get it occasionally.

Langensteins in Old Metairie has a good gumbo in a cooler right behind the deli.

Kingfish used to be solid. Think it’s rabbit and sausage but haven’t been in a while.

Dooky Chase. except for the Gumbo z'herbes, The sausage and chicken is really good as is the seafood. There is a reason they get a lot of good press

Thats a good call.

P&G on Baronne has delicious blonde roux gumbo.

Pascale's Manale and Frank & Johnny's are good ones too.
