What does the NY pizza taste like?

It's thin crust at about 90% grease to 10% dough.

We occasionally get it at Bizarros where US192 intersects with A1A in Melbourne Beach, FL. Only take cash and crew is rude. Stutter while ordering and they send you to the back of the line.

New Yorkers deserve New York.

Hate to brag, my own shrimp and andouille pizza, thin crispy crust, bake it on my Kamado Joe. Several guests have agreed.

Don’t know that I have an absolute favorite, but a few spots stick out in Chicago and New York: NY Pizza Suprema, Joe & Pat’s, Lucali, Phil’s Pizza, and Pequod’s.

Not sure I ever even knew the name of the place, but it was close to MSG in Manhattan. I was leaving a Phish show, was high and starving and came across it. We were staying in Chelsea so guessing it was in that area. We had been walking for a few blocks and saw the line for it so figured it was good.

It's hard to compare pizza across different styles; different styles are different types of food, IMO.

Best Wood Fired Neapolitan style: Bread & Circus Bee Sting (better than anything I've had at Roberta's, and pizzas I tried in Rome)

Best Deep Dish: Lou's (better than Giordano's, haven't tried Pequod's yet)

Best New York style/"normal pizza": Pizza Delicious Pepperoni

If only because he was always so... damn... nice... at Dolce Vita -- and at his Baton Rouge food (pickup-) truck before that -- my sentimental vote goes to Bogdan Mocanu. Hope he is doing well at whatever career he moved onto.

Pepperoni from West Main in Houma is my #1.

Second favorite is probably anything from Ancora. Was also a good spot on the outskirts of Philly called Dimeo’s which had an amazing Margherita.
