Brooklyn is good; only thing is that I find their pizzas aren't that hot when I've picked them up and have to reheat them at home. I love how they taste though.

I don't get all the love for Brooklyn.

Brooklyn is legit. Only gripe is their pizzas are usually very greasy. Although unlike Ancora's greasy pies, the ones at Brooklyn actually hold together.

It's not bad but it's not as good as it's made out to be IMO.

How is Ancora? I've thought about going a few times but I've never actually gone through with it.

Sounds like it's not so great.

My statement in this thread re: Brooklyn reflects my belief that it's superior to Mellow Mushroom. Care to rebut?

Went for the first time over the weekend. Thought it was good. The bruschetta and market salad were really, really good. Didn't like the arancini so much.

Tower of Pizza is legit

Also, Huey P's on the Wank is pretty good too. The only downside is the location.

I don't know how Theo's is in business. I've eaten there twice and have come away unimpressed both times.

I've been hitting the Elmwood Theo's for lunch since the World Cup started. I believe they tweaked their crust recipe. It's slightly more flaky and less like cardboard.

Theo's is not terrible, but it doesn't belong on any special list.

And my statement was that I don't understand the love for Brooklyn. Meaning I don't understand why it gets the love it does on this board. You are only one person bro.

And it depends on what Mellow mushroom

I've had the one in BR, off Veterans, off Oak, and tried two in NC. Pretty consistently underwhelming, IMO.

I did like the location of the one in Durham. Easy to slip in after a Bulls game if Tyler's was too slammed. Good parking too.

My comment was a joke based of the Johnny's pizza thread.

Completely over my head

FWIW, I think there's legitimacy to that argument. Mellow is national. Johnny's is regional. I'd expect a more significant degree of consistency with Mellow.

I've been to the MM in BR and the one in Metairie. Not a fan.

Then avoid the one on Oak. Food is meh and awful tap selection. They offered me a job there over spring break because I "knew my beer." I said thanks but no thanks, I'd rather continue to mold the future inmates of America.

I don't have MM as my number 1, though I do think their Holy Shitake pizza is delicious, as is their Caesar salad.

I honestly don't understand the hate for Mellow. I prefer their pizzas over Reginelli's (good salads and sandwiches, but the pizzas are wayyyy too dry and need more sauce) and Theo's. Plus Mellow has the Shroom Tea and their calzones are decent. Obviously not among the best places in the city but they aren't terrible like some of the posters are acting in here.

I don't think Reginelli's is particularly good either, and I said what I think about Theo's on page one.

Mellow was a good pre-game meal for 19-year-olds before heading to Bogie's. It served its purpose and his since been replaced by many better pizzerias on my list of dining options. If the MM on Oak would bring in Michael Chua on Wednesdays maybe I'd consider heading over there. Love me some Crazy Game Of Poker.
