Red Zeppelin is good, but I think the atmosphere puts it over the top for me. I happily enjoy sitting on the patio with friends/family knocking back a few cheap beers (High Life) and having a good time.

Crust, sauce, cheese, meat. I think that's a pizza.

I think I might have to do a blind taste test, similar to the boudin one I did not long ago, to determine the best in BR. I’ll just keep it simple, a cheese pizza from each. I’ll try a different one every day and record ratings for each, until the winner is decided.

Just picked this up from NY Pizza & Pasta on Jones Creek — 18” cheese pizza. It was great.

The key is to buy a freshly-made whole pie and not one of the premade slices that have been sitting under the heat lamps. Also if you sign up and order using the Slice app you get $5 off, so the price of this was less than $12.

I’m nearly 40 and finally accepting that I just don’t care for pizza that much. I’ve almost never had a pizza that blew my mind and made me want more the next day. With one exception. Mr. Gatti’s ground beef pizza. They refer to it as Burger but whatever. I don’t know what it is. There is something about the sauce and dough that I prefer over other popular places. And for some reason the dried little nuggets of ground beef, which should be disgusting, just hit different. Put it all together and it’s the best pizza I’ve ever had. And I am probably completely alone on that but I am ok with that. Lol

That being said, of the places around town, I would say Red Zeppelin. It really is good pizza and some more unique stuff as well. Anyone voting or saying Fleur is a masochist.

And also my favorite slice in BR, at least at the downtown location. Fresh out of the oven that New York style hits the spot.

Went there for the first time in years with the family and got three slices, half order of garlic knots, and a beer for 15 bucks. Pretty awesome deal.

When I was in junior high my Gatti's go to order was beef, onion and jalapeno. I still order it when I feel nostalgic, great pizza.

My nostalgic pizza order from high school was at Deano’s. Half meat lovers, half Buffalo chicken with a side of ranch. I worked in that strip mall and would eat that whole thing by myself once a week and still only weighed like 130 lbs

Pastimes and Fleur de Lis are disgusting. The fact they're popular at all makes me question the intellect and taste of Baton Rouge denizens in general.
