Not Sammy's. I went there Friday evening specifically for an oyster poyboy. $26.95 for a large oyster poboy, which was $9.00 more than the 2nd most expensive large poboy.
The poyboy was small, esp for the price. the oysters were tiny, seemed as if they were fileted in half. Their fries were absolutely terrible. This place has gone down hill alot.
I should've gone to George's right down the street.

Oysters are so expensive that most of our regular seafood places have removed them from the fried seafood menu, which makes me so sad. Oysters are my #1 fried option. I love them.

I haven't had a bad meal there yet. The only thing I've found mediocre was the crawfish bread.

If you're ever in the St. Francisville area the Francis has the best fried oysters I've had yet (Hot Tails included)

Surprisingly Roux 61 actually does fried oysters correctly. And their Peacemaker is really good. That’s pretty much the only thing I’ll eat there when I end up having to go.

I’ve never been, but wasn’t Roux 61 crushing it when they opened?
Did it just wear off because it isn’t new anymore, was it never that good, or did it start off well and went downhill?

Roux 61 still killing it. One of my favs. Oysters are always quality size. Grilled Diablo is a good option.
