Definitely not Rips for anything. Rusty Pelican is very casual, american fare. Nuvolari's if cooking for a bit more upscale. There's Old Rail is American fare and the Barley Oak has good sandwiches and bar food - but very limited menu.

Hambone (old town not technically lakefront) is the correct answer here

Rusty Peican is good too if you a beer and a sandwich/burger

There is really no contest if you're talking quality of food.

It will be interesting to see how the new place that the gallagher's folks are working on right on the lakefront. Supposedly it's going to be several restaurants in one place.

Is this the place that’s been under construction for several years? Like a couple of separate buildings?

Yeah, it's been ongoing for a few years. It looks pretty near completion, and had a job fair a few weeks ago

Hambone and there’s not a close second.

Villa Vancheri or Hambone. The Lake House is solid too. Pat Gallagher is about to open up a spot next to Barely Oak soon.

Duman has the best pizza but it's closer to Florida St. than the Lakefront per se.

I've only been to the Lake House for brunch, but it was damn good.
