$27 for a sandwich?

The wife and I hit Zuppardo's a while back for their stuff on sale and when ready to leave she said she wanted to pick up something from their deli section and got a whole Central Grocery Muff.

Yeah, it's a bit pricey and we decided to run over to the lake at the end of Bonnabel and sat at one of the picnic tables to eat the sandwich. We each took half and we could not eat it all. That sandwich could easily feed 3 hungry adults. All we had to go with it was a soda each.

This is where we ended up going and I found it wildly mediocre. The bottom half was still cold while the top was warm. As I understand it, you can do a muffuletta either hot or cold. This was somehow both and neither.

Other than that - man did we eat well in NOLA. Highlights included:

Cochon
Saba
Parkway (poboy spot because we went by NOMA)
Drago’s (strictly an oyster stop)
Irene’s (always a stop for us)
Willa Jean
Compere Lapin
Mister Mao

Our friends did not leave the city disappointed (other than the Bears fan of the group. And I’m ok with that )
