This was so disappointing. I haven't been to the Bayou Burger joint, but it looks like a significant downgrade.

Salu wasn't that good. Bayou Burger will be good to drink beer and watch football.

Upgrade in my opinion.

Pizza Domenica is the best on Magazine IMO, but they have weird HH hours and it is slightly outside of your requested area, so if you get off at 5 it won't be the best for you. They have half off of pizzas, draft beer, and wine by the glass. 3-5pm.

I also like Bouligny Tavern, cool ambiance in there and their food is good. They have $5 cocktails, $5 glasses of wine, and half off of fried items (good tempura green beans). 4-6pm.

Cavan also had a good HH, but I'm not sure if it has changed since they recently changed their chef. It was $5 cocktails and snacks. 4-6pm.

If you go over to St. Charles and Napoleon Superior Seafood has $.50 oysters, $3 glasses of wine, $3 draft beer, and 2 for 1 frozen French 75 and Mojitos. 4-6:30pm.

The happy hour mussels were legit, IMO.

New place just doesn't look like my scene. Report back if the burger is solid, I'd try it out if I heard good things.

We hit up Arana the most for happy hour. Half off tacos + half off bar. We usually split a house or seasonal margarita pitcher and HH pricing knocks it down to $12. Sometimes we do a tequila flight.

Basin is alright but the choices are more limited.

Salu wasn't any better or worse than the other places around, but was perfect for half off mussels and flatbreads. RIP, Salu.

Meh. Bayou Burger is an upgrade for me since it fits a need that we didn't have in that area.

Bayou Burger sucks. I work in the neighborhood, the food sucks, the setting is sterile and the wait staff is atrocious. It's like an Applebees Sports Bar.

Bulldogs happy hour is like a $1 off draft. Eh.

EDIT - Bulldog's HH prices:

Happy Hour is M-F 2pm-7pm*
50¢ off pints, $1.00 off pitchers**,
$3.50 house wines!
and double mixed drinks for the price of a single!
