Atchafalaya.
Intimate, very good (IMO) food, and won't break the bank.

Paging Neauxla
Lebannon - Sit outside. Bring a bottle of wine.
La Thai
Katie's
DO NOT go anywhere where the entrée prices are over $20 for a first date.

Lebanons. We live walking distance so me and roomie take all of our first dates to lebanons. Get em blasted on wine and then.......

I agree. I'm all about just drinks (maybe a couple of small plates) for a first date. I hate having a guy that I have no chemistry with spending money on me when I know I'll never go out with him again. I've had a few first dates at Cure. It's a good choice, as are the others you mentioned.

I went to Martinique Bistro for my first date with my current lady friend

After drinks, that would be good for me. I really wouldn't want to go to dinner on a first date unless I've known the guy for a good while as friends. I'd rather go for drinks and, if the chemistry is there, then there might be more drinks and a later visit to CG would be fun.

No, it sounds like she doesn't want to spend over an hour trying to look for conversation with a guy that she knows 5 minutes after meeting him that there's no chemistry.
