I think I'm going to get a halfway decent burner with a jet (bayou classic 16") for $60 and them get the cheapest 80 qt pot I can find. Maybe the one from Academy. I don't belong to Sams club.

This way maybe we won't need to upgrade the burner later in life.

Anyone heard of the King Kooker brand? They have this at Oak Point. I started to buy the 80q for $90 out of sheer convenience but couldn't get past the fact that they used a K instead of a C to spell cooker.

King Kooker and Bayou Classic are probably the two most popular companies.

I wouldn't worry too much about the brand, as long as you wash it and store it inside it will last a good while. I lose them way before they wear out.

Can I store it in the attic? I assume we have to buy a propane bottle and just trade it in when we need a refill? How does that work?

I'm a woman so I'm clueless!

the easiest thing to do is buy a bottle and just trade it in for a full one when empty, any gas station, home depot, grocery store, etc will have a tank exchange. It cost about $50 to buy one and $20 to trade for a full one.

get 100 qt min.

Get a cheap burner and a good pot.
anyburner will rust and get clogged w/ dirt dobbers.

the pot at academy is cheap thin crap..

for a few dollers more get a heavier gauge pot at Scardina's of Coursey or Vernons hardware
