Willing to travel a bit if they're awesome. One of my favorite foods, so I'm interested in what y'all have to say.

One of my friends swears by the La Carreta in Houma. I don't know if that's related to the other ones in the state.

I honestly haven't found any down here that stand out. But I just wanted to chime in that I made a chile relleno burrito recently using this recipe. It was pretty easy and came out really good. He also has a YouTube video of him making it.

The chile releno at Cabo's in plaquemine is good enough that the mexican guys who live in the area bring their visiting mexican family members to try them.

It's the wildest thing.

Carretas (likely the same at all locations) is probably the best I can drive to. I love chili rellenos but hard to find one that seperates from the rest.

Big question. Just cheese? or Cheese + Meat?

Yep. Love this place. They have the fluffy egg batter if that’s what you are looking for as opposed to the crunchier style breading.

There are so many people who have no clue that Sahuayo even exists. It's so seriously legit

I've had cheese, beef, and goat. Kinda liked the goat the most honestly.

That is the dilemna. There are three different Mexican restaurants we frequent, and all fix Chile Rellenos differently. VERY differently.

They are all good in my opinion, but are all a different combination of peppers/cheese/meat/sauce.
