How the f much did you spend for this?
Don’t they go for ultra big bucks since it’s a cult wine

Don Melchor. Chilean cab. Absolute baller and elite cab. 120, would be 200+ if it was from Napa.
A favorite of mine as well. But it's a wine that will benefit from setting it down for a while. I believe the 2021 vintage is on the shelves right now. It will benefit from aging, provided the temps in one's storage area are moderate. The Don Melchor would not be my choice if I was looking for a wine to buy and drink, say, tonight.
If I was looking for a pop and pour cab to drink tonight, I'd buy something like the Meiomi 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon, or the 2022 Daou Cabernet Sauvignon from Paso Robles. Both are in the $20-25 range

I have never had this so defer, but I find this hard to believe its good.
Meiomi PN is probably the biggest trash bucket of wine that is popular.
Horrid wine.

M'Etain (made by Scarecrow) is $175/btl
Scarecrow is $250/btl
Scarecrow is $250/btl

I only know Scarecrow passingly as one of the "cult wines" of Napa, sort of like Screaming Eagle (but obviously not as extreme).
I just assumed they were very hard to get and went for a lot on the secondary market.

You're correct about secondary market prices, but I managed to get on the allocation (took me 5 years), so I don't pay those ridiculous prices.
eta: I've been on the Screaming Eagle wait list for 10+ years. Still waiting!

Secondary pricing is crazy.
After I posted the bottle on this thread that we had, I got curious and looked up the price. $165!
If you knew me, you’d know I’m never drinking wine at that price unless it’s given to me. I told my wife “you didn’t seriously buy three bottles of wine at $165 each did you?” and she immediately laughed and said absolutely not that would be insane. Still don’t know what she did pay though…
Moral of the story - those last two bottles will be stored away for special occasions.

Keep waiting.
Eventually you’ll have the pleasure of being able to buy a 3 pack for 4 grand and then resell it for 12 grand

While I haven't been there personally, my wife highly recommends it. She was staying at the hotel across the street (not sure the name of the place) and when she checked out she had a lot of time to kill before her flight. They recommended she go to this place because it was brand new and they were having a soft opening.
She got a private tour by the owner and we are now on the member list. Member no. 006.

I don’t drink a lot of wine, why did you put “wine” in quotes by bonanza

It is definitely a wine made for the masses(very fruity, no complex favors, light tannins). There is nothing wrong with that, but it is not the type of wine I would spend money on.
For the price you could buy EXPONENTIALLY better wines like a temprenillo from Spain or a South American cab.

Austin Hope is my go to. They have a lower tier called Austin and I enjoy that too for the price point.

Kind of a wine nerd joke, because they manipulate it like fricking crazy.
They get the grapes from all over the region, they add a shite ton of residual sugar, and use Mega Purple more than almost anyone for it, among many other things.
If it tastes good to you, and you don't care about any of that stuff, then who cares? You do you, drink what you like.

Same people produce Caymus, and they manipulate Caymus a shite ton too.
I can understand why people like it, its consistent year to year instead of having variation, and its big and sweet as frick.
Caymus is fine, but its super overpriced, and you can get better than Caymus for less.
I will say though, the Caymus Special Selection is a VERY good wine. They knock it out the park with that one imo
