Texas de brazil hands down. Just the salad bar is easily the bes I've seen, and they give out good coupons if you sign up for their little online deal.
Nagoya has decent seafood and sushi and you can hurt yourself on the steamed crab legs.
Hunans has good Chinese on their lunch buffet, and I've heard good things about el magay.
Panchos is not the Panchos of old from what I've heard, and golden corral is god awful. Siciliy's has a good spread if you are looking for passable cuisine.

True, the Lobster Bisque and salad bar alone is worth a trip to TDB..even if I'm an O-Pos meat lover.
Love Nagoya for the price and options, and have eased from teasing it when first opened, as it imrpoved greatly since then in following years. But, had a very mediocre trip two weeks ago with a friend, even of the fresh prepped stuff as put online..then again we went late around 3:00.

It is a 3 hr drive but worth it. Drive up to Brandon MS (outside of Jackson) and go to Annie D's. LSU fan owns it and was named the best buffet in Jackson metro, which has a lot of buffets.
+1 Annie D's is the Chit!

The Gatti's at Essen and Perkins is one of the most disgusting, worse tended buffets I have even eaten. Stopped by at about 12:30 one day, most tables uncleaned, food all over the floor, few choices. No pizza buffets anymore for health reasons, but that is the last one I would ever go to.
Oriental Pearl on Coursey at lunch might be OK, rarely been, but the dinner is obviously the crap they didn't sell at noon. Avoid.

I'd say that since BR has emerged from the Dark Ages and now sports a Johnny's, that'd be the best buffet by far...just sayin'.

I did as well, but then I thought
1. Coming in from out of the country
2. Wants to eat a lot
3. Asking for a buffet.
Seems like GC is a great option. Looking for variety and volume.

Little bit of a drive from Baton Rouge, but the House of Seafood in Bush, La is a very large and good seafood buffet.
