Thats more of a reflection on these people that have never heard of it and their general dining choices.

No that's a reflection on the restaurant for not getting the word out or for being in a terrible location that no one drives by.

Uh. You not familiar with this restaurant?
It's only open 5 days a week for 2 hrs a day.
Reservations are required.
They have been doing fine this way for about 40 yrs. They don't need more attention.

I can’t imagine driving more than five miles to go to a restaurant.
Place is out in the swamp.

Ruth's Chris really pours it on for special occasions. You can even have a florist deliver flowers (not balloons) for your table in advance. They will have it all set up.

You're missing the point.
Yes, I've eaten there. It's a good restaurant. It's kind of over hyped on here for what it is due to the fact that it's relatively lesser known than the other popular fine dining restaurants.

Someone said it's lesser known because that speaks to people who have never heard of it's dining habits. I think it's lesser known bc of it's location and lack of advertising. You can be correct too - they're doing fine. But it's still lesser known. But it's not lesser known bc of people's dining habits.

Specifically the one in Baker on Plank it has the best of what the Michelin Guide refers to as "rag-tag ambiance".

How’s it over-hyped if it’s lesser known?

I second every poster on this thread who said Gino’s

Talk about good…the Laurence bread and arancini are amazing and my favorite apps. Don’t fill up on apps though because the portions are pretty generous and some of the best food you’ll ever eat. The people are fantastic, too, Mr. Gino is the GOAT

I like Juban’s. Supper Club is good too.

Going to try French Market next. Then Gino’s.

In town I like Louisiana lagniappe and French Market Bistro. A little out of town The Francis was excellent.

But

I’m at the point where I don’t like going out to eat anymore except every now and then because the food and experience isn’t isn’t as good as the money it costs.
