Maybe try Tres Bon in River Ridge?
Their boudin is terrible imo
good call. I've never been, just knew of them

Does Boudin by Jamison have a store front or sold anywhere?

Not for retail from what I know. I think central city bbq sells his stuff and the occasional farmers market
He has a meet up like once or twice a week to sell to public

“piece of meat”
Went to this place the other day for lunch. The fact that they call themselves a butcher is kinda laughable. They had a small case of only about 5 or 6 diff. kinds of meat for sale and half of it were things like bacon. I hope they expand their selection, because its slim at the present.
For metry/NO area Chris's is good. Butcher has good boudin but not sure if its for sale all the time. Besides that I guess Rouses/Dorignacs may be your best bet to see what they have available

I love me some Billy's too and Billeaud's
But if I am looking locally, I just get Creole Country from Breaux Mart.
It taste like it might be the same as whatever they have at the specialty meat place on West End. It's not as flavorful as Billy's or Best Stop, etc but it's good and local.

Rouse's is surprisingly good. Better than some I just had from Carencro that my cousin recommended.

I used to dig the Rouse's it but wore it out I guess. The ones in NOLA seem to use ground pork or something that's not quite right.

+1 Rat, I agree.

quote:I love both places, but I bought some of Bailey's boudin that was in the freezer case. There wasn't any in the refrigerator case.
Drive at least to Laplace and go to either Bailey's or Wayne Jacobs.
When I ate it, it was obviously past it's prime. I'd guess what happened was that the boudin in the refrigerator case got a little old, so they tried to preserve it by throwing it into the freezer.
All other times I've eaten Bailey's, it was very good.

He sells at various farmers markets on the weekend

I really like Rouse's Boudin but my palate may not be as sophisticated as y'all's. They also sell Manda and Richard's but I prefer the house brand.

Sailey's on Gretna has some great Boudin

Try Lil' Doug's...new place on Jeff Hwy behind Triangle West bar. Best I've had in the metro area by far.
Tres Bon is also just down the road. Not impressed with their boudin but their cracklins are on point.

Usually I hit Bergeron’s in PA or Billy’s/Dons/BestStop when passing through Scott
There is a new Bergeron's in Gonzales now next to the Cabela's store.
