Johnson's. Nice people!

Yes.. Very nice.. Johnson family started their grocery, butcher counter out in Eunice and they've been in the business for many years. Same family..

I like Don's - not dry, more meat than rice.

Cool link on Boudin

When is this boudin cookoff? Would be a great thing to go too?

It's in October, in Lafayette. Check out boudinlink.com for more info.

It's f'n "BOUDIN" in LAFAYETTE -- ask Richard Simmons about some good "Lean" Boudin... who counts calories when they're eating this stuff -- really??

I love the boudin balls from Best Stop. However, my experience with the boudin has not been so good. Bland.

For the best boudin around Lafayette, call me crazy, but I say Earl's.

I don't think he's worried about the calories. Its just the fact that you're chewing on chunks of fat rather than meat.

Upon further review, touché.Though my experience there has not been of this claim, quite the contrary. But, every place has a bad day when it comes to food preparation and also "each to his own". That full parking lot for the majority of each and every day has to carry some credence though... Viva la Mazola, lard, etc...!

Yep. I'm also a big fan of their ribeyes and stuff potatoes. Sausage is really good too, just not the large selection like Nunu's, but definitely good quality.

Yeah im not worried about the calories. Uncle jackd knew exactly what i meant. It isnt a one time occurance either, more like 80% of the time. When they get it right it is great stuff though. I was on a jobsite a mile from dons and would routinely go for lunch but after 4 back to back trips with huge chunks of fat (cracklin size pieces) i could no longer waste my money on thier boudin (this was about a month ago). Ive had chunks in thier frozen stuff as well.

They still get plenty of money from me through thier cracklin (my fav in the area so far), seafood boudin (another best of), meat pies, and plate lunches but i will not buy another link from them.
