Anyone make TRUE baked beans, from dried beans? I've always wanted to take a stab at that.

I made them with the dried beans some time ago, but it just wasn't worth it to me. I didn't notice a great difference, so I went back to basically doctoring the canned beans.
ETA: I don't recall what recipe I used and it could be that I didn't have a great one. They were good, but I liked my other beans better.

Mix two jars, a little mustard, onion, salt/pepper, powdered garlic, Tabasco, and Worcestershire.
Put in Pyrex, top with brown sugar, and bacon (l like to microwave the bacon for a bit to get the grease out it).
Bake till very bubbly. Eat.. Will feed 8 as an accompaniment.
