Here is a blind taste test of the top 144.
Is there a better value in BA Stouts than Big Bad Baptist?
BA Stout Taste Test
BTW - #1 will be in BR on Saturday.

Big Bad Baptist?
The girl at Binny's put me on it last night because I was buying Surly's Darkness and I bought two for $10.99 each. If they're really that good I may have to head back over and grab a few more.

I will take the Parabola

Yeah, it may not be in Surly Darkness's class, but I can promise you, it's good. At $10.99 for a bomber, it's the best bargain out there, IMO. If you see Big Bad Baptista, or Double BBB, get those, too. Big Bad Baptista is my favorite of the three. Think along the lines of BBA Abraxa, with the cinnamon.

Did you try Matryoshka, yet?

If I go into a coma, I could also use a drip of that stuff

Love a couple of these that I've had.
Had it at whole foods. Super booze and coffee flavors, so good.
Had this in Athens, never heard of it before, loved it.
The classic, duh.

I think the Nebraska Black Betty is a good value BA too. And our local Community BA Legion RIS is $15/ 6 pack and every bit as good as most anything.

I have two of those in my closest... I'm bringing one

The list kinda loses credibility with Funky Buddha dropping two artificially flavored Porters in the Top 15. I’m actually a big fan of Paste. They do good work; but, with those two making the top it feels like the Tasting Panel was composed of teenage girls.

Black Betty? Where to?

No meant two of the top 10

I'm loading up on Baptist & Baptista.
ETA: They're releasing a Triple Barrel Big Bad Baptist this year, Jax.

Wiltz! How are you?
I haven't had either of those FB beers, but they seem to be upfront about the adjunct beers, but are just saying that FB is really good at making them without them tasting gimmicky.
Again, I haven't had them, but the ones I have had that are highly rated were worthy.

Baptist is easy enough. Baptista can be hard to find...

I’m good...
To their credit, Funky certainly pioneered some pretty crazy flavor combos and established a vibe and carefree attitude down there where anything goes for beer. SoFL is like the Wild, Wild West and that’s pretty cool.
They’ve also had some really serious quality issues and some steady brewer turnover. As a result the beers just aren’t what they used to be and one batch can vary wildly from the next. The bakers extract in some of the beers is so pronounced now that Last Snow is like drinking sun tan lotion.
