I'm not sure if this is along that corridor but a customer took me to Heirloom Market BBQ for lunch and that brisket sandwich I had was outstanding.

Heirloom would be a little out of the way. On I-20, Fox Bros, Bone Lick, Greater Good (East Lake), and Smoke Ring would be convenient.

Thanks fellas for the recs. Fox Bros looks really good.

If you know of any worthwhile BBQ joints farther east (say Aiken, Columbia, etc) please pass them along. May not get out of Charleston 'til 4PM on my way toward Atlanta.

Again, much appreciated.

Heirloom Market is the best bbq you will find in the state of Georgia.

We ran into two major traffic delays Friday at Augusta and an hour closer to Atl...repair work related. Good luck.

I remember hearing good things about Sweatmans BBQ off the interstate between Columbia and Charleston, not sure if that'll be in your path though.

Columbia has a place called Three Little Pigs that has a lunch buffet that is pretty ridiculous.

I know OPs trip already happened, but we hit Fox Bros this weekend and it was really good. The texas fries were outstanding. All the sides were good...fried okra, brunswick stew, meaty arse chili (I forget what it was called, but that's how I'd describe it), and the meats were really good. Fatty brisket was great even though I didn't get the best piece.

We also hit Foggy Bottom in Logansville and buddy and I actually liked a few of their meats better. The rub that they sprinkle on all their meats is fantastic, and their brunswick stew was excellent. Full transparency, I had to ask the lady what brunswick stew was, but I quickly decided I like it.
