Specialized in Levantine cuisine. Food was delicious and the owners were really nice and hospitable people.

That's a good question, I am not sure what happened. I never got the feeling they were struggling by any means.

It was my first introduction to Greek food. Only place I ever went for Greek before it closed. I remember driving over for lunch one day in my 86 Chevy Cavalier (embarrassing vehicle) and it was closed with sign on door.

Alladin closed in 2001, a computer place was in that spot for several years, then the laundromat absorbed it. Yes, Alladin was pretty good.

It was great, and whenever my mother showed up with little to no warning, we always ate there at least once.
The location sucked. Nobody from North of I-10 was eating there if they weren't at work. The options for everyone else to get there involved College or Essen/Jefferson.

That was before the apartments in that area went to shite. My mom loved that place. We lived in Shenandoah.

It was great and the guy that owned it was nicest man on the planet.
If I remember correctly the wife’s mother hot sick and they had to move to take care of her.

I loved that place. As already mentioned, they moved to Arizona.
I'm surprised no one has mentioned what happened with the restaurant after that. The owners sold it to a white guy named Ronnie who had just moved back to the US after many years of living in Jamaica. They started also selling some of his wife's Jamaican food, and eventually this became the focus of the restaurant. They moved to Jones Creek and called themselves Ronnie's Ribs and had a Jamaican buffet for a while, but all of the old Aladdin Cafe food could still be ordered if you wanted it.
