Not sure what the best dive bar in BR is, but it is likely named a "lounge".

Yep

The old Happy Note on Florida before 9 pm was also a fantastic dive.

Yep. Baton Rouge is really one oversized suburbia of hell.

Very silly posts.

Someone asks: "where is the best sushi in New Orelans."

Answer: "this thread is a joke. They have Sushi in New Orleans, but lack the selection and quality of Vancouver. Yep, New Orleans is really one oversized Sushi wasteland."

Funny that it is SOME of you NOLA folks that think it is a BR/NOLA pissing contest.

The people in both cities with any sense realize that there is no comparison in certain realms.

For me, its location. The Baton Rouge Alcohol Related Revenue Generation Department trolls up and down Perkins in that area just waiting for you to fail to signal for the perfect window of time before a lane change or a turn.

frick the BRARRGD.

They tore it down to build BRCC. The building it was in is now parking lot. I miss that place. I spent at least 5 days a week in there for years. It was a unique place in that they had a helluva crowd of old folks from 10 AM - 5 PM. And a helluva crowd of college and HS kids from 7PM-2AM.

Anyone mention the Jefferson? Ill throw Phil Bradys into the group and if you want to see some professional drinking go to the Patio.

Teddy's Juke Joint! Great place. If you order drinks in there they give you "a setup" as they call it. You get a little half pint of the liquor of your choice along with whatever mixer and some ice to take back to your table and make your own drinks. It's great.

And the bar is nothing more than an old house. He has a tv hanging from the ceiling with a chain.

The place is incredible.

The Bayou burnt down ten years ago, and The Library has gone through so many owners since Joe retired that it is truly funny to see the new reincarnation every once in a while. No owner has ever realized that a food menu needs to be a part of the business along with being open for a lunch service to the campus with Joes old menu which was simple fare but sold decently and started the alcohol flowing at an early time in the day.
