Does anyone go here? Is it any good?
I never see anyone in there or even entering or exiting the business.

I'm honestly surprised it's still open.

We might stroll in there once or twice a year to play skee ball if we are drinking at Chimes next door. Other than that rare occasion, I have no reason to eat or drink there with Chimes next door

I'll go in there when the wait for a table at the Chimes is ridiculous.

the food is acceptable on those occasions.

but if the chimes is clear, I'm not choosing Barcadia.

Closed. They bought out the remainder of their lease, paid up to May 31st and closed on June 1st I believe. Went by there a few times @3 when they were suppose to open after limiting the hours and were never open then either.

Went by a few weeks ago because chimes was too packed...bartender said it was their last week
They barely had any games left in there at that point. Removed a bunch for more space.

I never got why they put it there, would have made more sense to put it where 30 somethings go that actually remember those arcade games.

They really never learned how to capitalize on the post-game parties. I never understood it, they have a fricking stage on the parking lot. Serranos lived off those post-game parties.

Serrano’s had the best post game parties for a while there early on in college, Walk Ons eventually took most of that crowd with their concerts though

The varsity used to have lines wrapped around the building for their retro night circa 2004

Yep. The lines would sometimes reach Cane’s parking lot. They wouldn’t let people in due to so many being in the building.

They just closed the other day permanently. It was doomed from the beginning. That’s what happens when you budget for $500k renovation and spend 1.5mm.

That's an absurd amount of money considering it was pretty bare inside and not anything nearing upscale

Seems like pretty prime real estate for a new restaurant/bar to come in. Hell, Chimes should buy it and expand.

It was mind boggling how empty Barcadia would be after game days after experiencing Serrano’s after games while going to LSU. What’s the story on Serrano’s? Did they sell out bc they weren’t making any money or did Barcadia buy them out bc they thought they could make more money? Barcadia was an absolute disaster. Empty before and after games, unbelievable that’s even possible

Hard to believe considering it’s located on an SEC campus with over 28,000 enrollment in a capital city with a metro area population of over 500,000 people.

Yes. They’ve been working on it since last year around this time. It’ll be done for this September.

Running a restaurant isnt the same as running an after hours rave club. First of all, the people arent all on drugs.
