That remodel looks horrible. Now it looks like every other fancy-ish place in every major city. What made Avenue Pub a favorite was its divey atmosphere with amazing selection. It was no-frills. Sad to see.

I see it more as state of good repair updates to an old, old building. It doesn't look like they modernized anything to be honest, primarily cleaned and painted. Nostalgia sometimes makes us think crappy places are awesome and add character (ala Slinky's on Chimes Street RIP, I think?), but even those places need upkeep and TLC occasionally.
Also, when/if things get back to normal I doubt it will feel much different at 3 am, or, now at this point in my life 10:45 pm.

She was also shutdown for operating illegally during the pandemic while telling everyone else they were the problem for not wearing masks.

Imagine what she could have done had she obtained a temporary food license instead of making food at home to sell.... Then blaming everyone else for her mistake

How does changing your mind make you a hypocrite? Shouldn't we celebrate growth? Shouldn't we appreciate that people can have the capacity to reevaluate their position as more evidence comes to light?
You can object to her for any number of legitimate reasons, but for this issue to be the one that you're singling out as being THE thing for you, it's kinda funny to me

I remember when she first took over the bar. She was adamant about keeping bud and a couple other BMC beers on tap for her low life regs that would come in there, chain smoke, and pump money into the video poker machine
