Going to be in Atlanta this weekend for the wife's birthday. Any recommendations for casual fine dining restaurants? I know it's a bit short notice for reservations for a Saturday night, but still going to give it a shot. We'll be staying in the downtown area, but can drive wherever if necessary.

South City Kitchen in Midtown has always been pretty solid and should be available.

We've been there before. Great food and atmosphere.

Looks like they closed in July. Couldn't come to a rent agreement.

Funny you mentioned them. Just booked a reservation. Wife is a huge Spanish food/wine fan (lived there for a couple years) and found their website and told me to book right away.

They even have Asturian Cidra, which I haven't found since I was in Madrid.

Saving this, because I'm heading out in a month to see an old friend who lives there.

My favorite spot is the Ticonderoga Club especially if you want some good cocktails and atmosphere

Would also rec:

Banshee
Cooks & Soldiers was always solid
For a more interesting steak dinner Marcel
Decatur had some good spots like the aforementioned Iberian Pig and the Kimball House
