What are your thoughts on this place? I don't think I've ever heard of it.

Good brunch; Okay/decent dinner. Nothing special.

Better places out there for the money but I enjoy going for brunch on the weekends with friends. It's loud and has a bloody mary bar and usually a live band.

ETA:

Reservation is a good idea because it fills up quick.

Brunch is solid. Better places out there otherwise IMO.

I haven't been in years, but I remember liking it. I may have to give it another try.

I just got an invite to a bridal luncheon there. Just kinda threw me off bc I was expecting somewhere closer to the hotel.

Where is the hotel?

Either way the neighbor hood isn't bad, so the St.Charles street car to Louisiana and not a bad walk straight down Louisiana to Atchafalaya

Don't forget to hit me and Cosmo up and let us know where the bridal party will be shaking their tail feathers

It will be good. The building used to be the old Petrosi's, best fried trout po-boy ever. Atchafalaya has IMO the best shrimp and grits in the city. You won't be dissapointed.

hotel is Crown Astor. I was wanting to stay at the Hilton bc hubs could get a $99 poker rate but then I decided not to be oddball bridesmaid, so we are gonna be at the Crown Astor. Stayed there during RDR last year, and was not impressed.

Sounds like I should get the shrimp n grits?

Brand new chef(about a month)who used to be with Emeril's group. It was always solid but is about to blow up. Trust me.

Atmosphere is cool. Tell Tony (who will greet you) that you like his new haircut.

They're good, no doubt. If you like collards, they're a great side there. Try the crab ravioli appetizer. And ask about the chef's special for the evening.

Very good. Love their brunch with live music and the build your own bloody mary bar. Best shrimp and grits in the city IMHO...but you can only get that for dinner. Weird, I know.
