Jeb Lund already answered this in the affirmative in his ground breaking column a few years ago.

That's kind of pushing it, especially with the crunchy taco. I would entertain an argument for the soft taco

A hot dog is a sandwich.

Bread, meat, cheese, other vegetables =
Sandwich.

And yes, a burger is a type of sandwich as well.

Pita is bread, like lavash..

A tortilla is not bread.. so a taco or a wrap is not a sandwich.

And to those talking about the hot dog bun being one peice.. so is a lobster roll , that's a sandwich. A weird vertical one, but a sandwich.

Yes it is. It just uses a different leavening agent than yeast.

That’s right , two pieces of bread. Hotdog is a singular piece of bread. Just like a pita pocket.
So if the French bread isn't cut all the way through a poboy isn't a sandwich?

Sorry ShortStop, you're not serving sandwiches.

There is plenty of internet discussions about the merit of a hotdog being just that and in its own category. Don’t see anyone arguing a poorboy is anything other than a sandwich.

That's special pleading. It's a fallacy.

How 'bout a lobster roll? It's only 1 piece of bread.
