App or similar for a Christmas party.

I perused the TD cookbook and saw some potentials, still looking for some new ideas outside the classic sausage balls, crab dip, etc.
What’s your go to party app? Gumbo is going to be the main, if that changes what you’d bring. Party will be about 15 people.

I'm bringing shrimp remoulade to my office gathering. No reheating required, tastes fine when made ahead (like evening before). Pretty on a plate, easily eaten with a plastic fork. The Galatoire's cookbook recipe is a good one.

Bacon wrapped pretzels or a cheddar bacon dip with some crackers.

I made a version of Better Cheddar for Thanksgiving and it went over very well. It always does, though.
One thing I'm making for Christmas Eve is a layered smoked salmon spread. I think it's in the Recipe Book.
Also, do look at the TD Recipe Book for ideas. There are many of them. I have a gorgonzola cranberry torte in the book that's very good. I think it somehow ended up under desserts, though it's not a dessert. It's always goes over well.
You can make lots of things with the mini frozen phyllo cups, cold or hot. Fill with shrimp salad or chicken salad, put a little brie and bacon or prosciutto in them and melt. You can use another topping for that like a dollop of pepper jelly while warm. I've filled them with warm crawfish cardinale or crawfish pie filling.
Seafood or spinach stuffed mushrooms are delicious. Some folks make spinach madeline and stuff the mushrooms with that mixture or you can go rockefeller style.

Avacodo and tomato chopped and mixes with diced garlic and olive oil. Salt and pepper to taste.
Serve with tostitoes. First app to be eaten everytime we make it.

get a bag of these
cut in 1/2 lengthwise and discard the seeds. toss in olive oil and run under the broiler till they start to brown & soften. let cool, and stuff with goat cheese. plate them and drizzle with reduced balsamic vinegar

Philo cups or the sweet peppers are front runners right now. Great ideas, thanks guys.

I love stuffed sweet peppers also and they look festive. You can stuff those with all kinds of different things. Google for lots of ideas, but the goat cheese is a good one. There are some variations on the goat cheese on the in-tra-net.

Make a bechamel sauce, toss in some crawfish or shrimp, use that to top an English Muffin, top that with a little white cheese and bake them till the cheese starts to bubble.
