Anyone with advice on hiring a private chef in New Orleans?
Posted by threeputt

I know it may be late notice but having a dinner for 10 couples in late February. Want to hire a chef that will come in and do all the cooking/clean up. I have a outfit in mind, But before I confirm with them thought I would reach out here and see if anyone else would have suggestions?
ETA: thanks guys for the recommendations

Prepare the food yourself and hire a server/bartender/dishwash that can plate the dishes and bring you drinks. There’s a guy we use for dinner parties but I doubt he had any openings in Feb leading up to Mardi Gras. Contact local catering companies - plenty of people out there that can handle these task that are looking for side money.

Make sure to tell him that he was found on tigerdroppings

My nephew is the younger sommelier. Emeril had actually taken him to New York pre-covid for a national sommelier convention where they do a dish/wine pairing competition. My nephew won by 54 points over the rest of the field. He's really talented.
Example: One time I was going into a store for a Coke and asked him if he wanted anything. He said, "Yeah get me a Dasani water...no, make that an Ozarka." I said incredulously, "There's no difference in bottled water." He said, "Yes, there is." So, I decided to do a blind taste test.
I bought 6 different waters (Ozarka, Dasani, Aquafina, Nestle, Evian, and Fiji) plus, tap water, and had another family member serve us, while we write down what we think each one is. I only got tap right (metallic taste & different temp from the others). My nephew got all 7 right! That's just insane.
TLDR: He's got talented taste buds which I didn't know was a thing until this taste test.

3rd vote for Chef Jeremy Coco, he’s terrific and that sounds right up his alley

If you have space outside and want something different, check out Hibachi Ninja. FB page LINK
It’s incredibly affordable and a great time but you may be looking for something more high end. If you ever wanted a more relaxing event, I recommend them. I think they can go up to 30ish.
