I haven't watched all of it yet, but how much of the food produced now is done by small numbers of large corporations (Tyson, etc), and how they continually cut corners to increase production, insert things to cause the animals to grow larger without truly understanding the long term consequences, and how govt regulation has fallen off to the point where it's mostly self regulated.

Interesting and a bit frightening.

Agree....it’s not news to many ppl who care about food, and it’s good incentive to seek out your local producers of meat and produce. Cheap food has been the goal of agribusiness and US food policy for years, but cheapest is certainly delivered at the expense of health, environment, biodiversity, and lack of humane treatment of both workers and livestock.

Small scale, local food systems do work, if the customers are willing to pay a bit more for supporting regional ag rather than big ag. Most ppl don’t buy the cheapest (shoes, car, electronics), so why are so many satisfied with the cheapest, poorest quality food?
