I got some a few days ago. They are clear which for nostalgia purposes I don't love, but that wouldn't really bother me if it tasted like I remember.

I thought they tasted nothing like what I drank in my childhood, they are definitely more health conscious, which in and of itself isn't a bad thing. I just wanted it to taste like I remembered. Make another version maybe.

My guess is they didn't have access to any of those formulas and bought the name hoping to sell based on nostalgia and local loyalty.

I had the same thoughts on the clear-ness of them. Weird. Taste, they taste fine, i can't say i remember exactly how they were back in the 90s.

The new 10K owner was ONLY sold the name (image and likeness) by Kentwood Spring Water*, not the original recipes. He chose to use LA sugar cane as the sweetener and no artificial dyes or colors. The taste is a bit different, not as sweet or sugary, although I can get used to it. I once had several packets of 10K Ice Tea flavor powdered drink mix. If I can find them, I'll gladly give them to the new owner.

*Today's History lesson - Once the largest water bottling company in North America, Kentwood has changed hands multiple times. The original family (Jewish) owned business sold out to the Japanese (Suntory) in 1985. Suntory sold it to the French (Danone), who then sold the company to DS Waters based in Atlanta. Primo Water Corp. acquired DSW and currently owns close to 20 different water bottling companies in NA.
