Anyone here a fan of the show "Good Eats"?

I loved good eats. Very rarely do make recipes straight from a cooking so I liked that he would take the show the logic and science behind techniques.

Very similar line of thinking in that take a meal and break down the different cooking methods.

Their cooking book the food lap is the shite.

That was the best show ever on Food Network. You really learned how to cook. That station has gone down so much. Nowadays it's just Guy Fieri stuffing his face on camera, or that awful Chopped show with all those unpleasant judges, or that strange lesbian hosting that Worst Cooks in America show.

I watch that show but she is awful

Good Eats had some of the best camera angles of any cooking show ever.

I like the substance, but I find Alton difficult to watch. Never could get into his shows.

I noticed that a lot of his science explanations were borrowed from Harold McGee. If you love knowing the science of food, pick up his book "On Food and Cooking: The Science and Lore of the Kitchen".

Alton Brown is even seen clutching this book in one episode.

He had the show with the characters and some silliness that bored me silly. Felt like I was watching a children's show.
