Anyone have any good quail recipes?

Taking my dogs hunting tomorrow and looking for some new ideas.

Remember, when cooking quail......duck is the mature woman. Quail is the virgin.

Clean em and split em in half

salt and pepper

Flour

3inches of 350 degree oil

Fry until golden and floating

Make some mashed potatoes and gravy

Exactly what Otis said...

I might put a little fresh sage, rosemary or thyme when I fry or drizzle with honey when they come out.

The only other way i cook them is to stuff them with crab or crawfish then roast.

Love to make a good quail sauce piquant from time to time. My wife use to work for a guy that loved to hunt dove and quail and he'd give a bunch of them to her and ask me to use some to cook him sauce piquant and I could keep the rest.

Too bad she moved on to another job and the new boss doesn't hunt-----or fish.
