I live near where the google maps said it is.. and never have seen the place.. Only thing I could think it could be is the little snowball stand next to the gas station there but I've never seen it open.

Haven't seen or heard of it, but I'm on the way to the google map location to check it out. I'll report back in 45 min.

From a quick google search it appears that they are not doing the fish taco thing just yet, just sno balls..... at least thats what their facebook and twitter indicate......
I am headed that way later on I may try and pop by and see whats what even though they are closed on mondays.

WTF... A Fish taco without Tilapia?
I'm glad they're using Mahi over ditch trout, as that's a step in the right direction to be sure, but I really just don't understand why they couldn't find some local fish like redfish, snapper, or better yet Amberjack, which is fairly close in density and texture? It would certainly make a good fish taco and it's got to be fresher and supporting the state more so than Mahi. The Mahi is almost surely IQF I would have to believe.

There are no new buildings anywhere near the map location. The only thing I can figure is they're going to turn the snoball stand into a taco stand, but there's no signage indicating that and they weren't open.

Okay, thanks for the discussion. Maybe I can clear some things up... We are open. We opened on June 6th after passing DHH inspection. The first week and a half we only opened for snowballs but we are currently and from now on will be selling tacos, snowballs, and more. As far as fish... I want to be absolutely clear, I GO TO GREAT LENGTHS TO SERVE FRESH GULF CAUGHT MAHI SUPPLIED THROUGH LOCAL SEAFOOD SUPPLIERS. It isn't always easy to get fresh Gulf Mahi but I am trying to establish a traditional authentic integrity. I am open to any and all ideas for additional or specialty tacos, though tilapia, redfish, anf catfish are not my favorite because they are by nature brittle fish that break up during the blackening process. I would much rather Black Drum, Swordfish, Wahoo, or Grouper. Anyways, I'm open everyday but Monday, cash only for now. Try us out, blog about it. Let me know if you have any more questions or concerns: hello@seriousfishtacos.com

It doesn't bother me at all, because I love hearing about new places, especially from owners. But some people get uppity if you start plugging your business in the forums, without checking with the admins.
This was in response to a thread started about your business, so I think you will be okay.

Especially since there was disinformation posted (iqf fish) and a lot of questions. Sorry I wasn't trying to plug :)

Mahi are thick as thieves in the Gulf. I have been on a few charters where we caught around 100 in a day.
