Or maybe a recipe that is a "can't live without"?

I'm wanting to make some tomorrow on my day off, and thinking about just a basic bolognese. Anything else I should consider?

that sauce would be great. When I make it I dont use any kind of meat in the sauce. I like it light and simple for the gnocchi.

I'll also add roasted tomatoes and sauteed spinach- nice looking colors when it's put together. Also, I'll saute the gnocchi in olive oil and crushed garlic.

That's some good info there, because the one thing I don't want to do is dominate the gnocchi.

A Pesto sauce with a hint of cream is wonderful with gnocchi. If you are feeling it, asparagus tips go well with it.

I usually just add pesto. With a few crushed red peppers.

i like a little bit of brown butter, onions, and green peas topped with a little shaved parmesean and drizzle of good olive oil.

also, pesto or basil always works...esp with a tiny bit of bacon.

I don't like the sauce to be too heavy for gnocchi.

Sounds great for fall or winter. Nothing like brown butter and nutmeg. I really enjoy that with butternut squash.

Yeah, going to give it a whirl without my brother over my shoulder for once. Looks pretty simple really.
