Well hell. That's exactly the thing I have. I guess it never was really red. Didn't realize I had the OG egg and that's what it is supposed to look like. I think I'll keep it like its is.

Very cool. Not too many of those things still around as they are somewhat fragile.

Here is an article on BGE history that talks about the old Pachinko Palace Kamados (BGE precursor that you have):

And here is a copy of the original owner's manual & cookbook:

Dude, you are the man. I had no idea what I had. And I really needed that owner's manual as I would have probably destroyed the thing in short order. I'll be at my camp tonight and will take pics of my egg and the nest I built for it. Many thinks Nofox

I'll paint it chartreuse if somebody can tell me what kind of chartreuse paint to use

Ftr, I've seen some pretty hot, skatin' waitresses at the Sonic with at least 6 or 7 long, curled up chartreuse fingernails. That kinda paint must be fairly strong and heat resistant, those tots can be hot!

Fwiw Here's the old egg in question. And the nest I'm gonna finish tommorow.

Think I'll skip the paint job and keep it at the camp

Too many kids bikes and scooters and other crap. I would love to carve out some space and put a table in and at least get a table saw.

Now that I don't play golf it may be fun to take some woodworking classes.

You could build that table baw. It's nothing complicated. Some instruction, a couple tools and a few beers and you got it.
