I might be old enough, but I didn't know about the slots or gambling. Didn't the owner spend some time in prison?

In my time, the restaurant was hopping, the food was good, and the live music was great.

Bingo in the Anchor Room!

Are you implying that there was gambling in South Louisiana? How dare you? That is an affrontery for all Cajuns.

Thats EXACTLY what I'm implying. It was wide open and not hidden. Payoffs were a way of life - think Mexico.

Wife is from LA. The new Regatta restaurant is solid. The Lakeshore was a club when I started going down there, will have to ask her about the bisque!

Nice to take a boat around the park and grab a bite at the new place

Seriously, as a kid I remember that being the best thing I had ever eaten. EVER.

That's "gaming", son. We like to refer to it as "gaming". Gambling has such nasty connotations.

eta: And, yeah, I remember the Lakeshore. Used to water ski by it every day in the summer when I was a kid.

I am not old enough to have watched Darla, Spanky and the gang in their first run, but old enough to have watched them on TV after school as a kid. Maybe as old as dirt.

The Regatta is nice. We arrived by boat on the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend (while the Regatta was going on). Nice destination. Bloody Marys are A+!
